The award winning WELL project has now been fully integrated into AMH New Horizons Downpatrick.  AMH WELL (Well-being, Education, Lifestyle and Living) will provide social, educational and activity programmes for people with mental health needs.  AMH WELL will continue to lead the way in developing community based outreach programmes across the Down District Area. This is a significant development in services delivered by AMH for people with mental health needs as it opens up opportunities to overcome the barriers of social isolation and the impact of mental illness through supporting people back into leisure, education and training activities.

The service offers a wide range of programmes including social groups for women, young men and pre-retirement, walking groups, computer courses, horticulture, fitness mornings and many more.

The need for the WELL project was identified by Down Lisburn Trust and it was set up in partnership with AMH as a pilot scheme in 2004 with funding from the Department for Social Development and Down District Council. The WELL project won the Lilly Reintegration Award.
