Mindful Carers Project

The Mindful Carers Project will empower carers across Northern Ireland to maintain positive physical and emotional wellbeing.

The AMH Mindful Carers Project supports carers, young carers and carers of those with complex needs across NI through a range of programmes provided both face to face and online.

Many thousands of people in Northern Ireland look after a family member or friend. This can place a huge amount of responsibility on them, as well as the emotional and physical demands that come with caregiving.

The Mindful Carers Project has been designed through feedback provided by carers in response to a survey undertaken in January 2022.

The Mindful Carers Project will:

  • Offer 1-to-1 support for carers
  • Provide drop-in support sessions
  • Provide a 6-week emotional wellbeing and resilience programme
  • Host a fortnightly peer support group
  • Lead a carer’s panel that can influence strategic policy for Carers in NI
