You may be concerned that people will struggle to access support for their mental health from primary care if they are in immediate need, however there are no other services available for anyone in crisis or distress so we would continue to advise anyone who feels they need immediate help or support to contact their GP (they may have to wait for a call back), the lifeline service and ultimately A&E. Some GP surgeries do have a mental health practitioner working with them so they may be able to respond more quickly.  People who have a keyworker in their local Community Mental Health Team can also make contact with the team if they are in need of additional support.
