Milk Stout Wheaten Bread

Makes 1 loaf

200g whole meal flour coarse
200g whole meal flour medium
50g self raising flour
1 tbsp bicarbonate of soda
1 tsp sea salt
1 tbsp treacle
2 tbsp golden syrup
200ml Guinness milk stout
200ml buttermilk
25g butter


Set oven 180°c

Place all  flours, bicarbonate of soda, sea salt into a large mixing bowl and whisk well.
In a small pot mix buttermilk, stout, treacle, golden syrup and butter.
Heat over a medium heat until butter has melted.
Add the wet mixture to the dry and mix quickly by hand.
Place into a prepared 2 lb loaf tin and bake for 55 minutes.
